Heather Mekins is the Lead Pre-Anesthesia Testing provider for both Luminis Health AAMC and Luminis Health DCMC. She brings over 8 years of experience from the Emergency Department, Urgent Care, and Pre-Anesthesia testing settings.
Heather is passionate about optimizing patients before undergoing anesthesia for surgery completing medical history and physical examinations, ordering diagnostic testing, interpreting test results, and referring patients for additional clearances as needed. She is also passionate about education having made the President's List in 2018 at Capella University. Heather brings that passion to the workplace educating pre-operative patients on medical history that could impact anesthesia & recovery, medication management, and pre & post surgical treatment and management.
