Clarisse Labor, PT

Clarisse Labor, PT, joined the AAMC orthopedic and sports medicine team in 2005. In her more than 15 years of experience, she’s worked in a variety of different settings, including acute care and home health, but her love has always been orthopedics.  Clarisse is now able to live out that passion every day through acting as the site coordinator for the Bowie satellite office of Anne Arundel Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Center. Here, she treats orthopedic patients — from young athletes to patients who’ve undergone total joint replacement — and teaches monthly spine education classes.  Born in Angola, Africa, Clarisse settled in the United States with her family at the age of 4. She grew up in Muncie, Ind., and then moved on to Cleveland State University where she was a four-year starter with the Division I volleyball team while earning her Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy.  Her studies and experience have given her special expertise in treating the spine including manual and posture corrective techniques to address any spinal ailment. She’s certified in Upper Extremity Rehabilitation and has taken several continuing education classes. Clarisse has two elementary-school-aged children and an infant. Her children keep her busy with their sports and extra-curricular activities. When she’s able, she enjoys playing recreational volleyball, exercising and traveling with her husband and children.
