Michelle Skinner, DO, is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. She joins Waugh Chapel Family Medicine from Harpers Ferry Family Medicine, part of University Healthcare Physicians in West Virginia. With a passion for education and quality patient care, she also trained resident physicians and medical students as an Assistant Professor for West Virginia University’s School of Medicine Eastern Division. Dr. Skinner received her medical degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California and completed her residency training in family medicine at Williamsport Family Medicine in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Skinner uses osteopathic manipulative treatments (the use of hands-on-care to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury) to help with a range of common musculoskeletal ailments including headaches, neck pain and back pain. In addition, she analyzes each patient’s posture, ergonomics and sleep position in order to focus attention on repetitive habits that are contributing to discomfort. Dr. Skinner is a current member of the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, American Academy of Family Physician, and the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
