Bio
Jerome Segal, MD, is an interventional cardiologist with board certification in internal medicine, and cardiology. He completed medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, his internship and residency at Harvard University, Beth Israel Hospital and his cardiology fellowship at Stanford University. Before becoming the director of AAMC’s Cardiovascular Services, Dr. Segal spent over 20 years in academic medicine fulfilling roles as assistant professor at Stanford, director and associate professor of the University of California San Francisco cardiac catheterization lab, and clinical professor of medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine. He also became the founder and CEO of three medical device start-up companies, and is the named inventor on over 20 patents for cardiovascular medical devices. He’s also the author of numerous academic publications and book chapters, and has presented at cardiology conferences worldwide.
