Welcome to Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center’s Women’s and Children’s Services - Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program! We are honored that you have taken the time to learn more about what we believe will be an extraordinary training experience for those that elect to join our residency program.
Our faculty is dedicated to educating trainees in providing the highest quality, safest, patient-centered, high value care for women who seek our services. The strengths of our program include our incredibly diverse, highly accomplished and cohesive faculty trained, or sub-specialty trained, in every area of obstetrics and gynecology. We are also proud to be the second busiest obstetrical unit in the state of Maryland with over 5,500 deliveries per year and a leader in women’s gynecologic surgical care with over 3,000 cases per year. The breadth and depth of this clinical volume, combined with exposure to health sciences, patient reported outcomes and translational research, will position our graduates to lead highly successful careers as general obstetrician gynecologists or sub-specialists in academic or community care settings.
A curriculum rich in exposure to both urban and rural populations will leverage the collective instruction of not only our physician faculty, but also our patient and family advisory council, certified midwives, nursing and administrative team members. Residents will participate in not only clinical simulations through our SAIL Center, but will engage actively in medical ethics discussions, cost of care and population health projects to create a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary educational experience.
As a regional health system in Annapolis, Md., approximately one million people seek our services — providing us the opportunity to live up to our vision of living healthier together and mission of enhancing the health of the people we serve. We have been recognized as a Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care and as one of the nation’s top 100 health systems with great women’s health programs by Becker’s Hospital Review. This national and regional recognition has been made possible because of wonderful patients who entrust their care to us, the support from the community and the commitment of our health system to the values of compassion, trust, dedication, innovation, quality, diversity and collaboration. The primary goal of our Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program is to continue our legacy in health care excellence by teaching doctors to become obstetrics and gynecology professionals, professionals to be teachers and teachers to be experts. Thank you for your interest. We hope to hear from you soon!
