The Luminis Health Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency program is a 13.5 month program. Residents will evaluate and treat patients up to 34 hours per week and complete coursework and professional development at least eight hours per week. Our program allows residents to practice and learn in a hospital-based community health system with exposure to a variety of conditions, with multi-disciplinary team work and shadowing. As hospital employees, residents will have access to employee benefits and a competitive resident salary. Both distance and onsite learning will provide specialty level skills for advanced thinking and patient care. Learning opportunities will include cadaver dissections in the Luminis Health SAIL Center, manual skills labs, and physician and surgery shadowing. Residents will also complete a quality outcomes research project to be presented and/or published at the conclusion of the residency program.
Why Choose a Residency Program?
A residency program allows current or new physical therapists the opportunity to further their education. This allows the future specialist to provide the best patient care backed by evidence-based techniques and processes. Residency allows close mentorship and guidance while specializing in a specific and narrowed field of study and practice. Completion of an Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency program allows the residents to sit for the Orthopaedic Certified Specialist Exam.
The Luminis Health Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency program is accredited by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education as a post professional residency program for physical therapists in Orthopaedics.

Peripheral Vascular Disease
It's easy to mistake leg pain for a sore muscle. But if it occurs on a regular basis, or your legs feel weak or heavy, the problem might be your arteries, not your muscles. Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) is a problem that often affects blood vessels leading to poor blood flow in your legs or feet. What is Peripheral Vascular Disease?PVD is also known as peripheral artery disease (PAD). It happens when plaque slowly builds up in arteries in one or both of your legs. Over time, it restricts blood flow, causes pain and can lead to wounds that won't heal.At Luminis Health, our vascular specialists offer state-of-the-art treatments for PVD that will keep you pain-free and moving.
