Kathryn O’Connell, MD, FACP, FHM, completed her medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and her residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She is board certified and is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Society of Hospital Medicine. After her residency, Dr. O’Connell practiced for two years at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she was assistant clinical professor in internal medicine and pediatrics at the John A. Burns School of Medicine, University of Hawaii. She then returned to the mainland, joining the staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center in 2011. She’s fulfilled the role of medical director for the Internal Medicine Hospitalist Program since 2015, is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine for The George Washington University of Medicine and serves as AAMC’s site director for the third-year medicine clerkship. She was elected as a Fellow of Hospital Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
