Renette Kirton, DPT
86006
An athletic scholarship in track and field took Renette Kirton, DPT, to the University of Maryland College Park (UMCP) to compete at the college level while studying sports medicine. During her time as a college athlete, she developed a relationship with the coaching staff at UMCP — a relationship so strong she was compelled to continue with UMCP as an intern in sports medicine after finishing her college track career. With a heart for helping those recovering from sports injury, Renette decided to further her education in 2000 at Temple University, where she received her doctorate in physical therapy. Practicing as a physical therapist since 2004, Renette has special interests in general orthopedics, sports rehabilitation and a functional approach to therapy. She is trained in Kinesio® Taping and the Graston® (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) Technique. In her spare time, Renette enjoys playing volleyball, working out, watching sports and hanging out with friends and family. Traveling is also a passion (when she’s able to get away). She’s traveled to the Caribbean, Mexico and Egypt and hopes to make her way to Europe and the Mediterranean in the future.
