- Provider76156Dr. James MacDonald joined the physician team at The Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center in August 2004. He has a fellowship in arthroplasty (total joint replacement) from the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Dr. MacDonald studied for his medical degree at the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. in 1998. He moved up to Philadelphia to Temple University Hospital for post-graduate training, and completed his residency in orthopaedic training in 2003. Dr. MacDonald is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the orthopaedic medical staff of Anne Arundel Medical Center. Dr. MacDonald has had several research abstracts presented at national and state medical meetings. Further research and medical publications are on-going. Dr. Jim MacDonald performs more than 300 total knee replacements a year, six times more than almost every other knee surgeon in our area. And that, he told the News4 I-Team, is one of the reasons he thinks his patients have so few complications. The only thing I do is hip and knee replacements. As a former Orthopaedic Surgeon and Team Physician at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Dr Ove specializes in Sports Medicine, especially in the area of arthroscopic surgery and ligament reconstruction of the knee and shoulder, and he continues to practice these specialty in his present private practice. Dr. Ove completed his orthopaedic training at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia with emphasis on trauma and Sports Medicine. Additional medical assignments have included a tour during the Persian Gulf War. He continued his Navy career as a Naval Reserve Officer and as an active consultant at the U.S. Naval Academy and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland until 2004, before retiring fully from the military into civilian life. Dr. Ove is Board certified, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the American College of Sports Medicine. He holds privileges at the Anne Arundel Medical Center where he is a member of the orthopaedic service. - Provider77651Dr. Redziniak is Board Certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has received an additional Subspecialty Board Certification in Sports Medicine. His practice emphasis is on all aspects of care of the shoulder and knee as well as other sports related injuries. He also specializes in fracture management. Dr. Redziniak is a graduate of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) in New Jersey, where he obtained his Medical Degree. During residency, he spent time in New York studying orthopedic oncology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, and was named Chief Resident at RWJMS in the orthopedic program. In addition, he was the AOA / Zimmer Resident Leadership Award Winner. He completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Virginia, where he took care of The University of Virginia Athletic Teams and the James Madison University Athletic Teams. Dr. Redziniak is currently the Chesapeake Bayhawks' Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Physician. He also serves as the team physician for Bowie State University, Anne Arundel Community College, and Severna Park High School. He is a member of The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and The Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). He is an instructor at the AANA cadaver surgical skills lab for arthroscopic procedures of the knee and shoulder. Dr. Redziniak completed a graduate program at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (M.S.) and received his B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University. He was the starting quarterback for the Johns Hopkins University Varsity Football Team. He was named the Burger King National Scholar Athlete and National Scholar Athlete by College Football Review. Other sporting achievements include New Jersey All State Quarterback and All State Lacrosse Midfielder. Dr. Redziniak has been involved in many research studies involving sports injury repair and rehabilitation. He has been published in peer review journals and has presented at national meetings. After completing a fellowship in spine surgery at Duke University in Durham, NC, he joined the Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center in September of 2000. Since his arrival, he has performed over 3000 spine operations. He was Board Certified in July 2002 and recertified in 2011 by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. In 2011 he was named the medical director of the Anne Arundel Medical Center Spine Program. An undergraduate of the University of California at Los Angeles, Dr. Speciale graduated with honors from the George Washington University School of Medicine, Washington, DC in 1994. He went on to complete a five year orthopaedic surgery residency at GW before his fellowship year at Duke. Dr. Speciale strives to remain on the cutting edge of the rapidly developing field of spine surgery. He maintains an association with many professional societies including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society. He has a special interest in spinal deformity surgery and has trained with some of the foremost spine surgeons in the world. In addition to traditional spine surgery techniques, he performs minimally invasive spine surgery including lateral access lumbar fusion surgery, disc replacement surgery, dynamic stabilization and balloon kyphoplasty. He is currently involved in various research projects and teaching endeavors. Dr. Speciale has been on the staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center since September 2000.
