Mitchell Odom, NP

Mitchell Odom, PNP, PMHS, is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner and pediatric mental health specialist through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. He currently treats a variety of diagnoses, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, anger, psychosis and PTSD. In addition to outpatient services, he performs threat assessments at Anne Arundel Medical Center’s Pediatric Emergency Department. He’s worked in a variety of settings since he began practicing in 2009. Early in his career, Mitchell provided pediatric mental health and general pediatric care while working at a rural health department. Quickly becoming aware of the lack of access to mental health services, he move away from general pediatrics to focus primarily on mental health treatment. Since that time, Mitchell has worked in community health settings, private practice and organizational settings. His progressive approach to the management of mental health includes identifying and managing any medical conditions that can impact a patient’s mental status. As part of the standard treatment plan, he includes both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches that are individualized to each patient. While Mitchell already holds a Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of South Alabama, he continues his education still today. He’s currently enrolled in the post-master’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program, so he can also provide psychiatric services to adults. He’s also completed the first year of his Doctorate in Nursing Practice degree, which he will resume upon completion of his post-master’s certificate. In his free time, Mitchell enjoys spending time with his wife and children. His favorite pastimes include going for relaxing rides on his Harley, exercising, reading and traveling.
