The Luminis Health Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency program is a 13.5 month program. Residents will evaluate and treat patients up to 34 hours per week and complete coursework and professional development at least eight hours per week. Our program allows residents to practice and learn in a hospital-based community health system with exposure to a variety of conditions, with multi-disciplinary team work and shadowing. As hospital employees, residents will have access to employee benefits and a competitive resident salary. Both distance and onsite learning will provide specialty level skills for advanced thinking and patient care. Learning opportunities will include cadaver dissections in the Luminis Health SAIL Center, manual skills labs, and physician and surgery shadowing. Residents will also complete a quality outcomes research project to be presented and/or published at the conclusion of the residency program.
Why Choose a Residency Program?
A residency program allows current or new physical therapists the opportunity to further their education. This allows the future specialist to provide the best patient care backed by evidence-based techniques and processes. Residency allows close mentorship and guidance while specializing in a specific and narrowed field of study and practice. Completion of an Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency program allows the residents to sit for the Orthopaedic Certified Specialist Exam.
The Luminis Health Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency program is accredited by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education as a post professional residency program for physical therapists in Orthopaedics.

Our community health providers and educators come from the areas we serve. We respect and embrace diversity and tailor our health advice to fit your everyday challenges.
Our approach is not one-size-fits-all. We start by connecting with our local health partners to deeply understand the needs and strengths of our communities.
We talk to our frontline providers, patients and community leaders. Then, we design our services to meet the specific gaps and challenges they identify.
We bring education and easy-to-access services to neighborhoods, residences, schools and community groups. By doing this we help people avoid serious health problems.
We inspire people to live healthier lives and connect people to supportive caregivers. Community — it brings us all together.
