A Guest House for Patients and Families Traveling for care is stressful. At Luminis Health, we want to do everything we can to brighten the way. We're very fortunate to have a Hackerman-Patz House on the campus of Anne Arundel Medical Center. The Hackerman-Patz House acts as a home away from home. It's a comfortable, convenient and affordable option for patients and their families and caregivers. Here, you can rest and regain strength while staying close to the hospital. Our Hackerman-Patz House features: 20 private guestrooms. Spacious common areas, including kitchen, playroom and living areas. Private bathrooms in all guestrooms., Convenient Location for Patients and Families The Hackerman-Patz House is just across the street from the main hospital. You can be with a loved one in the hospital within minutes. Parking Information Hackerman-Patz offers convenient on-site parking. We have a dedicated lot with 30+ spaces, including several accessible parking spots. Parking is always free., Making a Reservation Guests must either be a patient, or a family member/caregiver of a patient who is currently receiving care at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center To make a reservation, call Make a Reservation 410-571-3100 , Monday – Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. After hours, reservations can be made in person at the Hospital North Pavilion Information Desk located in the Main Hospital. We fill guest rooms by availability and personal circumstances. To prevent another family from being turned away unnecessarily, please call if you need to cancel your stay or plan to leave early. Please note when making a reservation if you need one bed or two (we have rooms with a queen bed and rooms with two twin beds). Also, let us know if you need a room with an accessible bathroom. Check-in time is after 2 pm. Check-out is at noon. Room Rates We offer low-cost room rates. Please talk to our manager when you call., Your Home Away From Home The Hackerman-Patz House aims to bring you the comforts of home. As a guest house, it has many of the amenities you would expect. However, we are not a full-service hotel. Our common spaces are shared by all guests. This includes a great room with a kitchen, living area and outdoor terrace. We have a flat-screen TV and computer and printer located in the great room. There is Wi-Fi throughout the home While we don't provide meals, you are able to bring or prepare food. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator and freezer, microwaves, toasters and a blender. You may not bring your own appliances. There's a children's playroom, stocked with toys, books, games and TV with DVD player. There is also a laundry room that guests can use. We provide detergent and dryer sheets for your convenience. Your room All rooms include: Either one queen bed or two twin beds Sitting area Private bathroom Telephone Alarm clock Wi-fi Cable television Mini-refrigerator Cots and portable cribs available upon request Housekeeping is available upon request. Guest Policies These policies help us to provide safe and comfortable housing for our patients and their caregivers: Guests must be a patient or family member/caregiver of a patient who is currently receiving care at LHAAMC. Guests can stay up to 14 days at a time. Guests may extend their stay with the approval of the manager. Hackerman-Patz House is not a care facility. Patients must have a caregiver or be able to care for themselves, which includes the ability to evacuate the premises in case of emergency. We are an alcohol- and smoke-free facility. Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are not permitted in the house nor on the grounds and parking area. Personal pets are not allowed. We are happy to recommend area accommodations that allow pets. Emergency Medicine Pediatric Inpatient Unit Pediatric Surgery, We know this can be a stressful time. We've streamlined the process for your visit, including: Registration. When you arrive at the pediatric emergency room, you check in and provide information like address and phone number. Triage. A triage nurse asks you questions about your child's illness or injury, checks your child's temperature and weight, and briefly examines your child. We make sure a provider sees children with life-threatening conditions right away. Our waiting area. You remain in the waiting area until a provider is able to examine your child. Please understand that patients may not be seen in the same order of their arrival. Patients with the most serious illnesses and injuries will usually be given priority. The exam. We'll bring you and your child into a treatment area, where our expert team cares for your child. Depending on your child's condition, your doctor may order a blood test, x-rays, or other tests that help diagnose. We'll explain each test to you first. Discharge. When your child's care is complete, we give you instructions about any care you may need to provide at home. Admission to the hospital. For children who need additional care, we can transfer them to our pediatric inpatient unit at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center., The pediatric ER sees all patients, regardless of whether you have health insurance. If you are a self-pay patient, we can connect you to government programs that may help with your health care costs. Plus, our billing department can work with you on payment plans. Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Services (previously anticoagulation services) offer medication management services for patients in need of anticoagulation/ blood thinners and diabetes medication management. Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Services clinic, we have onsite doctors and pharmacists who work together with your doctor to keep you healthy. We provide medication refills and order necessary labs as indicated. We make sure you get the right medication at the right dose and time. We monitor you closely to prevent and treat side effects. And, if you're a Luminis Health patient, we coordinate your care by reviewing and updating your single medical record. We recognize you're more likely to have better health when you know more about your treatment and condition. We empower you with information and help you make important lifestyle changes. This lowers your risk of health problems even further. About Your Appointment The last appointment of the day is 30 minutes before the clinic closes. Holiday closures include New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas., We provide onsite testing, medication adjustments and education for those who receive anti-coagulation and/or diabetes therapy. Education Your dedicated team teaches you all about your specific medication. We offer a 45-60 minute initial education appointment and take the time to answer any questions you have. We provide information for you to review at home and additional advice and support at your follow-up appointments. We cover: How to properly take your medicine. How diet, alcohol, stress or medications can affect your therapy. Possible side effects and how to manage them. Warning signs to watch. Our onsite educators help you to maintain your health in other ways, too. We support you by offering diet, lifestyle and exercise changes that are actually achievable.
