The American College of Cardiology awarded Luminis Health the 2024 Silver Performance Achievement Award for the Chest Pain - MI Registry. We were awarded for demonstrating sustained achievement of performance measures in treatment of acute myocardial infarction patients through the implementation of American College of Cardiology/American Heart Associates Clinical Guideline Recommendations.
The American College of Cardiology has recognized Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain. We were awarded the Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI in June 2024 based on a rigorous onsite evaluation of our staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.
The Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services System (MIEMSS) has designated Luminis Health as a Cardiac Intervention Center (CIC). We were recognized for complying with state standards for receiving patients experiencing the most common type of heart attack, STEMI. Luminis Health is one of 28 hospitals in Maryland with this designation.

The American Heart Association recognized Luminis Health for our continued success in using the Get With The Guidelines program. We were recognized as part of the Coronary Artery Disease STEMI Receiving Center - Gold Plus with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll for providing the most up-to-date, evidence-based care for patients with type 2 diabetes who are hospitalized with heart failure, heart attack or stroke.
