Kate has a dual master's degree in Nurse Midwifery and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner from Georgetown University. She also holds degrees in Clinical Nurse Leader (M.S.) and Human Biology, Health and Society (B.S.) from the University of Maryland.  Kate worked for two years as a nurse on the Navajo Reservation where she obtained emergency department (ED), labor and delivery, newborn nursery and postpartum experience.  She also worked for eight years in high-risk obstetrics as a labor and delivery nurse at the University of Maryland Medical Center.  Her special interests include family planning, health disparities and postpartum care.  Kate is passionate about empowering women and providing holistic health care through evidence-based medicine, education and shared decision-making.  She loves to garden, travel and spend time with her husband and their five wonderful kids.
